Pixie/actress, Michelle Williams (we swear she’s Tinkerbell in disguise), made her rounds at the New York Film Festival in a draped Chanel dress. The fluid lines of both the bag and the dress make the look ethereal while the solid Roger Vivier pumps ground it.
We cannot part without mentioning her bling. It is definitely bold but the floral pattern and sparkly diamonds really polish off the airy look.
We really wish we saw more of Michelle and her great sense of style but we certainly understand that the duty of motherhood outweighs her want for the red carpet. Darn!

Coco Chanel seems to be a bit of a theme lately. There are movies and books coming out about Mademoiselle’s life seemingly every hour, on the hour, and for good reason — the woman led an incredibly interesting life, wholly deserving of being chronicled. We recently had a chance to review one of the more unique books about Coco Chanel — Coco Chanel: Three Weeks/1962.
Rather than retell the story of how Chanel became a success, this book is filled with pictures (and a few select phrases) taken when the icon was 79 years old, when Douglas Kirkland (a very young-looking 27-year-old American photographer at the time) had the opportunity to spend three weeks taking pictures of Paris, Chanel fashion, and, of course, Chanel herself.

As the world of fashion reacts to the tanking economy, some high-end players are making bold new compromises partnerships in order to break into a recession-friendly lower price point. For example, in an attempt to scoop up some consumers that will be broke bargain shopping for the foreseeable future (like us), Esteé Lauder will be launching a trio of fragrances exclusively at the fashion hub that is Wal-Mart.
The new line will be sold under the name C-Thru, as in the bottles are transparent — or as in ‘wow, the economy must really suck for Esteé Lauder to make such a transparent attempt to reach out to Wal-Mart shoppers.’ While the move is totally uncharacteristic for the historically highbrow cosmetics firm, launching a Wal-Mart line is probably one of their best chances to grow in these tough times.
The C-Thru trio will consist of gem-inspired fragrances like Ruby, Purple Diamond, and Blue Opal. After their exclusive launch at Wal-Mart this December, EL’s low-end fragrances will eventually be sold at other luxury stores such as Kohl’s and Target. Weird.

Weird art and Kate Moss seem to go together like supermodels and Diet Coke. We already told you about the golden crotch-shot statue (currently on display at the British Museum), and now we’ve got something just as unusual, if not worth quite as much — a self-portrait of the supermodel, drawn in lipstick.
Actually, it’s kind of fitting that a model would use makeup as her medium, now that we think about it. Kate drew the portrait while still with her mess of a man, Pete Doherty. Apparently Pete sold the portrait, which he inscribed with “Who needs blood when you’ve got lipstick?” after the break up, and now that buyer has sold it privately for £33,600.
